Annie Walker is Director of the Regent Street Association, which represents the retailers and businesses in Regent Street. The Association, founded in 1925, organises the Regent Street Festival and the switch on of the famous Regent Street Lights.

In 2002 Peter Shaw, a former banker from Wales, was kidnapped in Tblisi where he was working. His account of this and his five months in captivity Hole, kidnapped in Georgia, is published by Accent Press.
