Alfie Boe is a young British tenor who started his working life as a finisher in a Blackpool factory. He is just about to release his debut album Alfie Boe.
MARCO PIERRE WHITE
The Michelin starred chef Marco Pierre White releases his autobiography White Slave which is published by Orion.
DESMOND KELLY
Desmond Kelly is the Assistant Director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and he has been working with young people to see if the strict disciplined life of ballet training can put some order into their troubled lives. The result is being filmed for Channel 4 called Ballet Changed my Life: Bally Hoo which begins on 20 September. Their training culminates in a performance of Romeo and Juliet.
RAPHAEL CHIKUKWA
Raphael Chikukwa is the curator of a new exhibition - Afrikan Heroes: Veterans of the Second World War, at the Imperial War Musem North which charts the often overlooked experiences and contributions of 2nd World War African veterans. It was also a personal journey for Raphael as his father and grandfather both served in the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
