JO JOELSON
Jo is an artist and lighting designer, one half of the unit called London Fieldworks . They are set to appear at the Roundhouse as part of Space Soon: Art and Human Space exploration. Their creation Space Baby in which they simulate the effects of long term space exploration in a hibernaculum runs from 9-13 September.
ANDREW MOTION
Andrew Motion is the current Poet Laureate. His book In the Blood: A Memoir of my Childhood is published by Faber and Faber on 7th September.
MARINA AIDOVA
Marina Aidova (and Anna Horsbrugh-Porter) have published a book From Newbury with Love:Letters of Friendship across the Iron Curtain about the correspondence between Marina's family and Harold Edwards and his family in England. The letters began in 1971 in response to an Amnesty International letter-writing campaign. The book is published by Profile books (in association with Amnesty International) on September 7th at a price of £12.99
JOHN ASHFORD
John Ashford has created the Place Prize for Dance which is Europe's largest choreography competition where twenty contestants compete for £25,000 prize money. Previews of the 20 new works take place this week with the winner announced on 30 September.
