JACQUELINE WILSON
- Author and Children's Laureate.
Her major aim as Children's Laureate is to encourage adults and children to read aloud together, to promote reading aloud as a way to have fun, bond and relax, and as important family time. Great Books to Read Aloud- will be published by Corgi Books on May 4, at £1.
DAME KIRI DE KANAWA
- Legendary soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is performing at The Classical BRIT Awards 2006, at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 4 May. The event will be broadcast on ITV1 at 4.45pm on Sunday 7 May.
In 2004 she embarked on a new venture by launching the Kiri te Kanawa Foundation- a charity to help young singers.
CELESTE DANDEKER
- is Artistic director of Candoco Dance Company.
Formerly a dancer, an accident in 1973 led to her breaking her neck and ending her career. Candoco (in which disabled and non-disabled dancers perform together in fully integrated work) are celebrating their 15th anniversary with performances at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on 5 and 6 May. DR. NICK BAYLIS
Dr. Nick Baylis is a Cambridge University Lecturer in Positive Psychology & the Science of Well-Being. He is co-director of the newly created Well-Being Institute at the University of Cambridge.
