CHRIS GOODE is a writer and director and founder of the production company Signal to Noise. He first came to attention at the Edinburgh Festival when he staged a version of The Tempest in people's homes. Last year he designed Homemade - home delivery theatre.

LENNART NILSSON is the Swedish photojournalist and scientific photographer. His remarkable photographs of the embryos published in Life magazine in 1965 brought him to worldwide attention. His book A Child is Born sold 50 million copies worldwide. His latest project is a visual account of human development, from DNA to stem cells. Life is published by Jonathan Cape, at £35.00.
SUBRATA DASGUPTA was born in Calcutta, but his family emigrated to Britain in 1950 where his father was working as a surgeon. The eight years they stayed here remain the most significant of his life. He has written his memoirs of growing up in Derby, which include his meeting with Stanley Matthews.

YASMIN ALIBHAI BROWN is a journalist, broadcaster and political commentator. The RSC has a programme of new work which is set to transfer into the Soho Theatre in London's west end from 14 March to 22 April 2006. It includes Yasmin Alibhai Brown's one-woman show which reveals her Uganda roots.
