Charmaine Neville was born into the third generation of the legendary musical family from New Orleans.
She was one of thousands trapped in the city following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina; her home was destroyed and her possessions lost.
She is in London this week to perform at Ronnie Scotts as part of a charity benefit season The Spirit of New Orleans.
DIANA QUICK
The actress Diana Quick is currently starring as Mrs Clandon in George Bernard Shaw's You Never Can Tell. The play runs at the Garrick Theatre, Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 0HH, until Saturday 11 March 2006.

MARK DEEBLE/VICTORIA STONE
Mark Deeble and Victoria Stone are an extraordinary husband and wife team who film, direct, write and produce all their own work while bringing up their two young sons in the African wilderness. Their latest project is a film which tells of a year in the life of an African Fig tree.
Natural World:The Queen of Trees is on BBC 2 tonight at 8pm.
