INTERVIEW WITH BRIDGET WARR

Peter White talked to Briget Warr, the incoming chief executive of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association (GDBA) who will take up the role in April 2004. She succeeds Geraldine Peacock CBE, who left the Association last year.

ENGLAND BLIND FOOTBALL TEAM

Mani Djazmi talked to Howard Smith from British Blind Sport's visually impaired football committee.

Last year, England's blind-football team qualified for this year's Paralympics. However, they may not be able to go as they would have to represent Great Britain and for that to happen they need the assent of the Football Associations of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales; the English FA has no problem with this.

Another problem facing the players is that there is currently no Great Britain selection procedure and so the British Paralympic Association cannot fully back them or take them.

Mani Djazmi also talked to the England players.
