In the second of two programmes on climate change, Andrew Jefford discovers the effect of changing weather patterns on viticulture.
Andrew Jefford visits the Torres wine estate near Barcelona and meets Xavier Sort; Mirea Torres and Albert Puig.
Andrew attends the world's first conference on wine and global warming in Barcelona and discusses the issues with keynote speakers: Professor Bernard Seguin, a French climatologist; international vineyard consultant Dr Richard Smart from Australia; and Pancho Campo, President of the Wine Academy of Spain.
Andrew talks to wine writer Jancis Robinson about the effect of global warming on the taste of wine. They taste Misiones De Rengo, a Cabernet Franc wine from Rapel Valley in Chile and Yew Tree Pinot Noir from Denbies.
Andrew speaks to Professor Hans Schultz, a viticultural expert at Germany 's Geisenheim Institute.
Andrew visits the Denbies Estate in Dorking, Surrey, one of Britain 's biggest vineyards and talks to general manager, Christopher White and winemaker Marcus Sharpe.
Andrew talks to Richard Selley , Professor of Geology at Imperial College, London about the connections between climate and geology.
