"Cooper is a man with tremendous gusto and passion for the pleasures of life and food, but he is also a man who has a blazing fury with those who are responsible for allowing our food supply to have become so contaminated and with those countless others who accept this state with apathy and disregard."
Journalist Colin Spencer

Presented by Simon Parkes
The National Trust is engaged in a complete and authentic restoration of the kitchen garden at Tatton Park in Cheshire. Simon Parkes and Susan Campbell, the consultant on Tatton’s restoration, speak to Simon Tetlow who is in charge of the kitchen garden; Sam Youd, the head gardener; Nancy Waterfall, the education officer; and Brendan Flanaghan, the general manager.
Gerard Baker, cook and ardent vegetable grower, goes to Audley End in Essex, where the Henry Doubleday Research Association has created the country’s first organic kitchen garden, and finds out how the old ways of growing vegetables offer a blueprint for the future. He speaks to Nick Hill, the project manager for the restoration and Mike Thurlow, the head gardener.
Readings from The Diary of William Cresswell, gardener at Audley End in the 19th century.
