Programme Four: Browsing the Horizon
An award-winning community radio station set in the tea plantations of Sri Lanka's central highlands has developed an innovative way of giving the rural community access to the internet. Listeners can send in their questions and trained volunteers will surf the internet and broadcast their findings in local languages over the radio so making the information available to all. Covering every topic from human rights to tea planting advice, and even reuniting a local mother with her long-adopted daughter in Sweden.
