Simon Draycott is a lawyer who has been involved in various businesses with his wife, Cynthia. Generallt speaking the businesses don't flourish, but the Draycotts do. However their latest venture, an advertising agency, is enjoying almost supernatural success, following hard on the heels of their 'Hades' soft drink commercials featuring Lucifer (or an actor looking very much like him).

They are aided and abetted by the sinister goblin Toe Rag, who brings them Odin, All-Father of the Gods, whose legacy not only brings them wealth and success but power beyond the dreams of mere mortals.
