About Deep Trouble

Deep Trouble is the adventures of HMS Goliath - where each week the crew finds itself in a different part of the world, maybe keeping watch on the drug-ridden coastline of San Terros and getting tangled up with the CIA or trying to cope with a transsexual marine in a firefight. And that old old naval chestnut of how to hide a chef in a helicopter. Off the coast of Naples. We’ve all been there…

Wherever they are, they don’t know where they are. But they’re probably not far from trouble. Deep Trouble.

Deep Trouble is written and performed by Jim Field Smith and Ben Willbond.
Meet the Crew

Captain Paul Wade (Captain of HMS Goliath), is played by Jim Field Smith. He is essentially a loveable idiot, who has two simple demands from life: a) lunch and b) lunch.

Commander Alison Fairbanks (First Officer and 2 i/c) is played by Katherine Jakeways. She is strictly old school and still enjoys a game of hockey when she’s on shore leave.

Lieutenant Jack Trainor (3 i/c) is played by Ben Willbond. Career officer Jack Trainor (pronounced Tren-oor, as he takes great pains to point out), is genuinely frustrated with the ineptitude of his fellow officers and makes no attempt to hide it.

And this series, there’s a new character. Barry. A woman. That’s Alice Barry really, but just call her Barry. She’s the ship’s Computer and Weapons Expert, and if you call her Alice or try and exchange pleasantries, she’ll probably reprogramme the aircon system to shut off the oxygen to your cabin. She can do that, can Alice. Sorry, Barry. Barry is played by Alice Lowe (from Garth Marenghi).
