Deborah Robertson

Deborah Robertson
Deborah Robertson
Mariella talks to acclaimed Australian writer Deborah Robertson whose collection of award winning short stories was published ten years ago.

Deborah has now written her first novel - Careless - the story of eight year old Pearl, struggling to come to terms with the death of her younger brother Riley.

Derek Raymond
Writer and film-maker Iain Sinclair joins Mariella to discuss the work of cult novelist Derek Raymond whose books are currently being re-issued.

Iain argues that although the books are dark, brutal and violent they are also highly moralistic, well written and strangely prophetic.

Memory In Fiction
As the Memory season returns to Radio 4, author Michael Arditti and Jill Dawson discuss how they use memory in their fiction.

Second hand book charts M C Beaton, creator of Agatha Raisin, had ten books in the fifty bestselling second hand books of 2006.

Richard Davies from the website AbeBooks, which compiled the chart, sheds light on her popularity - and the current trends in second hand book buying.
