Mitterand Film
A film about the French President Mitterand, who died in 1996, opens in Paris tomorrow. It’s the first time a modern-day French leader has been portrayed on film because of the strict French privacy laws. Le Promeneur du Champ-du-Mars was made against the wishes of Miterrand’s family and supporters and certain scenes have had to be cut. Caroline Wyatt reports on the film and the fuss it has caused.

EastEnders at 20
The BBC Soap Opera celebrates its 20th birthday this week, but in the last few months it has been in trouble. Mal Young, Head of BBC Drama Series until recently, and Jean Seaton, who is chairing a conference about EastEnders at the University of Westminster, discussed the life-expectancy of EastEnders.

Kinsey opens on March 4, Certificate 15.
The Inner Circle by T C Boyle is published by Bloomsbury this week.
