Island at War
A new ITV series focuses on the wartime ordeals of Channel-Islanders - however, it's a drama, not a documentary and many aspects of this traumatic time have been fictionalised, including the identity of the island itself. Historian & columnist Madeleine Bunting, author of "The Model Occupation" and Channel-Islander Bob le Sueur discuss the merits of this approach.

"Island At War" begins on ITV1 on Sunday 11th July, at 9pm - and runs for six weeks.

Pirates beware!
A national, industry-wide DVD anti-piracy campaign is launched on July 12th - aiming to change public opinion about DVD piracy. Adam Dawtrey of Variety magazine talks to Razia Iqbal about past campaigns and their success-rate.

Carnegie Winner
Jennifer Donnelly, this year's winner of the CILIP Carnegie Medal for children's fiction, talks to Razia Iqbal about the award and her writing.

"A Gathering Light", by Jennifer Donnelly, is published by Bloomsbury.

Not a dry eye in the house…
A student film about a crying camel was the hit of the Toronto Film Festival. Anthropologist Nigel Barley reviews it, and explains why…

"The Story Of The Weeping Camel" is released on July 9th, in London and selected cinemas nationwide certificate U

Tubby toasting…
70s reggae legend, King Tubby, wasn't really a king. He wasn't overweight, either. Jamaican producer Gussie Clark, music journalist Lloyd Bradley and The Mad Professor (aka Neil Fraser) celebrate his influence on reggae.

"In Fine Style" by King Tubby, is released on Trojan records on July 12th
