Adam Mars-Jones reviews 'I'm Not Scared' - the new film from the Oscar winning director Gabriele Salvatores about the kidnap of a small boy in southern Italy in the 70s.
I'm Not Scared - opens at selected cinemas nationwide on Friday 11 June.
KEVIN SPACEY'S 24 HOUR PROJECT
Playwright and actor Kwame Kwei Armah talks about writing a play overnight for Kevin Spacey's '24 hour' project at The Old Vic. The project entailed 6 short plays being written, rehearsed and performed within 24 hours and performed by actors who included Brian Cox, Jim Broadbent and Emilia Fox.
A LINE IN THE SAND
Alkarim Jivani reviewed A Line in the Sand, an ITV1 thriller starring Ross Kemp that's taken 3 years to be broadcast due to the sensitive nature of its middle-Eastern espionage storyline.
A Line in the Sand is on ITV1 Monday 07 June and Tuesday 08 June.
GABRIEL PROKOFIEV
John Wilson speaks to Prokofiev's grandson - Gabriel Prokofiev - who has written a classical string quartet after years of working under pseudonyms as a dance producer.
Gabriel Prokofiev’s String Quartet No 1 will be played by the Elysian Quartet on Monday 14 June at the Blackheath Halls in London, and at the Cargo nightclub on 01 July. His CD of the String Quartet No 1 played by the Elysian Quartet will be released later this month on the Non-classical label.
MAEVE BRENNAN
The extraordinary story of Maeve Brennan - an Irish girl in America who became a star of the New Yorker and a short story writer of genius who was struck down by mental illness and died forgotten but is now being rediscovered.
Angela Bourke's biography 'Maeve Brennan: Homesick at the New Yorker' is published by Jonathan Cape on June 10. Maeve Brennan's republished work includes The Springs of Affection, published by Flamingo, and The Visitor, published by Atlantic Books.
