Created and written by Chris Morris and Armando Iannucci, The Day Today was the television offspring of BBC radio’s On The Hour. It appeared on BBC2 ten years ago and a two-disc DVD is released on Monday to mark the anniversary.
The Day Today DVD is released on Monday 26 April, certificate 15.

BUS 174
Bus 174, created by film-maker Jose Padilha, intersperses the story of the 2002 siege with copious tv footage and eye-witness accounts with the history of the high-jacker, Sandro, a survivor of the murder of a group of street children some years earlier. So far, the film has picked up ten awards.

VECTORIAL ELEVATION
The World’s largest interactive art work, a light sculpture called Vectorial Elevation illuminated the sky above Dublin, using robotic searchlights visible from 15 kilometres away. The sculpture was first shown in Mexico City for the Millennium, then in the Basque region of Spain, then France. It arrives in Dublin to mark Ireland’s Presidency of the EU.

Angus Trumble is an art historian and studied facial beauty in 18th and 19th century art for a lecture to Dental Surgeons. While researching the lecture, Angus noticed the frequency or otherwise of smiles, the appearance of teeth and the ambiguity of expression.
