As daughter Helen struggled to deal with the suicide of her partner Greg Turner in 2004, Pat had plenty of help to offer. She knew only too well the effects of bereavement, having suffered clinical depression after the death of her eldest son John in 1998. It surprised many, as Pat had always been the positive antidote to her more moody husband Tony. Thanks to her drive they built Bridge Farm into a thriving organic enterprise producing its own yoghurt, ice cream, vegetables and cheese (thanks to Helen). They also opened their own shop Ambridge Organics in Borchester. Once a radical feminist, Pat's now more of a caring capitalist. Like Anita Roddick, but with a bit less money and a lot more yoghurt. |
