Lower Loxley's continued survival has helped Nigel shrug off his former reputation as the idiot son of the Pargetter family. This reputation was largely earned through appearing at hunt balls in a gorilla suit and his party trick of undoing bras one-handed. But even those fond of him would admit that he still displays a loveable eccentricity. Like many visitor attractions, Lower Loxley reveals the enthusiasms of its owner, with a cruck barn, falconer Jessica, cycle trails and bike hire, a wild flower meadow and an area of vines which will eventually produce Lower Loxley's own wine; all of which are the result of Nigel's crazes. It has to be said, though, that recruiting Elizabeth as his wife and co-manager was probably the smartest move that Nigel ever made, or ever will. |
