Mel isn't the first woman to fall for Kenton Archer's plausible charms. But she was the first actually to marry him and the first to have his baby - at least the first he's acknowledged. Baby Meriel arrived in May 2001 two weeks late - already taking after her father, David quipped. But before the child's first birthday, Mel had seen through Kenton, who had borrowed money from her with little sign of it ever being repaid. She chucked him out, and he returned to Ambridge sadder but (this is Kenton, after all) no wiser. |
