Lilian has certainly ignored the adage 'never go back'. After many louche years as a tax exile in Guernsey following the death of her second husband Ralph, she returned to Ambridge apparently with the intention of teaching her siblings Jennifer Aldridge and Tony Archer the true meaning of the word 'embarrassment'.

In 2006, Lilian and her 'Tiger' Matt Crawford moved to the home she'd once shared with Ralph - and then she bought a half share in The Bull, the pub in which she'd grown up! Lilian's son James (born in 1973) paid her a rare visit in 2005, but sadly his only objective was getting a shedload of money to shore up an over-ambitious property deal.
