As she works at Ambridge Organics, you'd expect Kirsty to have environmental principles, but you might be surprised to learn that she was once charged (although not convicted) with destroying GM crops. It was to be the start of a six-year on-off relationship with fellow eco-warrior Tom Archer. But in 2005, foolish Tom fell for a business contact and ditched Kirsty, only to be ditched himself shortly afterwards. Pat and Tony Archer feared that the break-up would mean the end of Kirsty's involvement in their family business. But Kirsty was blowed if Tom was going to ruin that too.
However, Kirsty did find Tom taking up with her best friend Brenda Tucker a bit hard to bear. For a while it jeopardised her new relationship with Brookfield Farm herdsman Sam Batton but it was his growing attraction to Ruth Archer that she should have worried about.
