When Ruth went into labour, keen cricketer David was in the middle of the innings of a lifetime, but he was persuaded to leave the field to see his son born. Keen on pigs and a good painter, Josh attends the local primary school at Loxley Barratt and has made lots of friends, including girls Megan and Lydia. He was worried when he was replaced as Ruth and David's youngest son by the arrival of Ben.
