Well, put your prejudices on hold and meet Jennifer Aldridge; elegantly dressed and spoken, former teacher and writer, keeper of the Ambridge website, splendid cook and loyal wife. Pregnant by a local farm hand, unmarried Jennifer gave birth to Adam (now Macy) in 1967. She later married Roger Travers-Macy, who adopted Adam. They had a daughter Debbie, but the marriage didn't last, and Jennifer wed Brian in 1976. They had more daughters: Alice and Kate (now Madikane) who by the age of 20 was taking after her mother, with two children by two different fathers (Jennifer regularly looks after Phoebe).
