Grey Gables

After a refurbishment in 2004, with excellent facilities including a health club and golf course, and with go-ahead chef Ian Craig aiming for his first Michelin star, Grey Gables became a hotel fit for the twenty-first century. Manager Caroline Sterling sold all she had and with the support of husband Oliver - and the bank - made a successful bid in 2006. Roy Tucker's subsequent promotion to deputy manager upset Lynda Snell more than somewhat but her elevation to senior receptionist did a little to reduce her umbridge. No: 'umbridge'.
