Given that his father Alistair is a vet, you might not be surprised at Daniel's fascination with animals. But it's not in the genes, as Alistair adopted Daniel in 2000. Daniel's blood father was a solicitor, Mark Hebden, who tragically died in a car crash without knowing that his wife Shula was pregnant. In 1998, a mysterious illness was eventually diagnosed as juvenile arthritis, and Daniel is subject to occasional 'flares' of this debilitating condition. But most of the time Daniel is a normal little boy, who enjoys horse riding. Now that's certainly something he's inherited.
