Clarrie must have done something very wicked in a previous life to be landed with such a trial in this one. While cooking and cleaning for husband Eddie and curmudgeonly father-in-law Joe, she tries to keep the peace between feuding sons William and Ed. If that sounds like a full-time job in itself, you might be surprised to hear that Clarrie also works in the dairy at Bridge Farm and behind the bar at The Bull. She's kind-hearted and a good friend, but displays a fierce tongue when one of the Grundy men gets out of line, which is quite often. To escape her daily drudgery, she likes a nice romantic novel (not that she gets much time to read) and very occasionally escapes to Great Yarmouth to see her sister Rosie Mabbott.
