Borchester

This market town lies in the picturesque Am Vale six miles north-east of Ambridge. At its heart is a historic clock tower and wool market. Pubs and hotels include the comfortable George, the Tin of Peaches (near Sir Sidney Goodman's canning factory) and the Goat and Nightgown (very lively thanks to its proximity to Borchester General Hospital and Borchester College). There's a good range of shops, including Underwoods department store and Ambridge Organics. Leisure facilities include the Theatre Royal, a three-screen cinema and a municipal leisure centre with gym and swimming pool. Cafés and restaurants range from Jaxx Caff to the upmarket Botticelli's, plus the usual range of ethnic establishments and takeaways. Despite these delights, teenaged residents have only one word for the place: "boring".
