Dark-haired Ben caused quite a panic when he arrived at Brookfield before the midwife. It was lucky that father David had helped with plenty of births before - even if they were of lambs and calves. The new arrival caused some anxiety for Josh, who worried that Ben was some sort of replacement, but his parents were eventually able to persuade Josh that he wasn't to be sent to market. Even David's sister Elizabeth Pargetter managed to bury her sibling rivalry, agreeing (with Alistair Lloyd and the departed Dr Tim Hathaway) to become a godparent.
