Jaxx Caff

Borchester

Description

One-time greasy spoon with a flat upstairs, bought in 2003 by Jack Woolley and reopened with a retro 1950s feel.

Kenton Archer practically begged Jack to give him the job of managing it, mainly because he'd become homeless after exhausting the patience of numerous family members.

Frank the chef turned his hand to a slightly more ambitious menu (gasp: panini!) and capable assistant manager Emma Grundy made sure that Kenton could concentrate on what he did best - chatting up the more attractive customers.

When failing Jack started to divest his portfolio in 2004, the café was one of the first businesses to be sold, but to Kenton's relief the new owner kept him on.
