Richard Attlee

(Kenton Archer)

Description

Richard Attlee plays the well-meaning, but somewhat hapless Kenton Archer. Kenton’s success rate – in business as well as in his personal life - is not high. To give an example, highly inebriated at a wedding reception in December 2006, and to the delight of all the other guests, the manager of Jaxx Caff asked his much more sensible partner Kathy Perks to marry him. Sobriety hit Kenton hard the following day and, after a few flustered days the ‘wedding’ was called off. Fortunately for Kenton, Kathy was of the same mind regarding the proposal so their relationship remains in tact.

Richard studied Russian and Drama at the University of Birmingham, little more than a stone’s throw from the BBC Birmingham studios, where The Archers is made.

Richard’s work in the theatre has been extremely varied. It includes Present Laughter (Theatre Royal, Bath), The Young Visiters (Lewes Live Literature Festival), Postcards from Maupassant (Old Red Lion), The Clearing (Shared Experience), Twelfth Night and Macbeth (Shakespeare’s Globe), The Winter’s Tale (Method and Madness), Gormenghast and Les Enfants du Paradis (David Glass Ensemble), Julius Caesar, The Tempest and Volpone (English Shakespeare Company), Good (Northern Stage), A Matter of Chance and Telling Tales (The Kosh) as well as seasons at Chester, York and Exeter.

On the small and big screens Richard’s credits include Party Animals, Casualty, The Bill, Family Affairs, Midsomer Murders, Ultimate Force, Dunkirk and Topsy-Turvy.
