Annabelle Dowler

Description

Annabelle was born and brought up in Formby, Merseyside. After summer seasons with the Manchester Youth Theatre, she went to the University of Bristol and graduated with a First in Spanish and Drama. After teaching English in Madrid and touring Spain with a bilingual theatre company, she trained at Webber Douglas in London where she now lives.

Since then, Annabelle has undertaken a wide range of work including theatre, television and radio drama. Her theatre work includes Peter Pan at the National Theatre, Perpetua at Birmingham Rep, Breezeblock Park at Liverpool Playhouse, The Mayor of Zalamea at Liverpool Everyman and most recently As You Like It for Oxford’s Creation Theatre.

Annabelle played Catherine of Aragon in a television adaptation of The Six Wives of Henry VIII and has also appeared in The Bill.

Annabelle has appeared in numerous BBC Radio Dramas, her favourites being Wuthering Heights, Mr Lowry’s Loves, My Turn to Make the Tea and coming out later this year, the Poirot series The Mysterious Affair at Styles.
