Tom and Pru Forrest moved into Keeper's Cottage, their new home built for them by Estate owner Charles Grenville.

Dan Archer (Monte Crick): Dan a partner of Ambridge Farmers.

1962

Ambridge Farmers
Phil Archer left the Grenville Estate and took over Allard's Farm, He, Jill and the children moved into the farmhouse and renamed it Hollowtree. Actor Richard Todd opened the village fete. Phil Archer, Dan Archer and Fred Barratt amalgamated their farms, forming Ambridge Farmers. Phil started to build up a pig unit at Hollowtree. Reggie and Valerie Trentham sold Grey Gables Country Club to Jack Woolley. Charles Grenville sold Jack twenty acres close to the club for a golf course.

1963

Death on the roads
Ambridge won the Best Kept Village competition. Sid Perks moved into the village and started working for Jack Woolley. Janet Tregorran killed in a car accident. Driver Charles Grenville had his leg amputated. Cellar Club opened at Arkwright Hall.

John Tregorran married Janet Sheldon, 29 June.
Susan Horrobin born, 10 October.

The Bull pub

The Bull pub overlooking the green in Ambridge. A new dining room was built.

Change of coppers
New dining room built on The Bull. Charles Grenville left for America. PC Albert Bates replaced PC Bryden as the village bobby.

Jack Woolley (Philip Garston-Jones), who became co-owner of the Estate.

Joy and Pain
Estate bought by Jack Woolley and Ralph Bellamy. Christine and Paul Johnson adopted baby Peter.

Charles Grenville died in America, 21 January.

Nelson Gabriel

Nelson Gabriel (Jack May): Nelson and Toby opened a casino.

1966

Arson around
Fires broke out around the village. Frank Mead caught by the police setting fire to The Bull and admitted to hospital. Jethro, Lizzie, Rosie and Clarrie Larkin moved back to Ambridge from Dorset. Nelson Gabriel and Toby Stobeman opened a casino and betting shop in Borchester. Sid Perks became manager of Arkwright Hall Recreation Centre.

Jack Woolley married Valerie Trentham, 22 February.
Sid Perks married Polly Mead, 27 September.

Sid Perks (Alan Devereux), Sid and Polly bought the village shop.

Out of wedlock
Jennifer Archer refused to name the father of her baby. Jack Woolley cut down the yew trees in front of Grey Gables. PC Colin Drury became the village policeman.

Elizabeth Archer born with heart problems, 21 April.
Adam Archer born, 22 June.
Nelson Gabriel's daughter Rosemary Tarrant born, August.

Jennifer Archer (Angela Piper), refused to name the father of her baby.

Sid perks up
David Latimer became vicar of Ambridge. Sid and Polly Perks bought the village shop. Valerie walked out on Jack Woolley.

Jennifer Archer married Roger Travers-Macy, 27 September.

Village post office raided. Polly Perks suffered a miscarriage following the struggle.
