Chris Moyles braves The Bull
10 June 2004
A few weeks ago, BBC Radio 1's Chris Moyles declared war on The Archers, and - for one week only - managed to overtake us as the most listened-to show online via the BBC's iPlayer.

We didn't bear a grudge - and obviously neither did he, even though The Archers rapidly returned to the Listen Again top spot. When we invited him to make a cameo appearance in Ambridge, he not only accepted but decided to bring his whole team with him and after the recording he presented his breakfast show from BBC Pebble Mill in Birmingham.
Chris Moyles can be heard as a random customer - and suspected Pub of the Year judge - in The Bull (it seemed the most appropriate location) on Monday 14 June, repeated Tuesday and in the omnibus on Sunday 20 June.
Chris's studio team, including Rachel, Aled and "comedy" Dave can be heard as "background artistes". They were very surprised to find that, far from murmuring rhubarb, rhubarb, they had to have proper conversations, which led to considerable discussion about what could and could not be said on air.
