Adam visits Rwanda to meet the production team of Urunana, a radio soap modelled on The Archers. The soap features an Ed Grundy character, and Felicity Finch, the actress who plays Ruth in the original version of the serial, has been to train the actors in Rwanda.
In a country where 11% are HIV positive, the programme tackles the taboo sexual health issues, and works to build peace and reconciliation after the genocide of 1994. During that period, radio was used to devastating effect to whip up hatred and turn neighbour against neighbour. Now, however, Urunana has helped restore Rwandan's respect for radio.
