Radio 3’s weekend of broadcasts also had live relays and recorded highlights of the main stage artists, where the line-up included three greats from Africa - Youssou N’Dour, Oumou Sangare and Rokia Traore – as well as Buena Vista’s Eliades Ochoa from Cuba, and London’s own Portico Quartet.
The weekend’s broadcasts were presented by Radio 3’s World Music presenters Andrew McGregor, Lopa Kothari, Charlie Gillett and Lucy Duran. Fiona Talkington presents more highlights in Late Junction over the following week, and World on 3 and World Routes also include recordings from WOMAD.
