Amadou and Mariam, the husband and wife duo who have become an international musical sensation in the past year, perform for their home audience, in a more raw and rootsy style than their European concert audiences hear. During the 1980s he was the lead singer of Bembeya Jazz, and being a mere teenager, he acquired the nickname 'Bambino'. He comes from Guinea.
