This week she explores the music of Ayacucho, the remote Andean region most heavily hit by the Shining Path terrorism throughout the 1980s and 90s. This week she records groups on the banks of the Amazon in Iquitos, and travels to the remote and very high Andean town of Huancayo famed for its massed saxophone orchestras. Plus, the real sound of Peruvian panpipes with a group from Lake Titicaca.
