Iain Burnside presents tenor Andrew Kennedy and pianist Julius Drake in a programme including songs by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Janacek's The Diary of One Who Disappeared.

Andrew Kennedy studied at King's College Cambridge, and the Royal College of Music.

He is currently a Vilar Young Artist at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, and a BBC New Generation Artist. Andrew will represent England in the 2005 BBC Singer of the World Competition, in Cardiff in June 2005 Andrew is in demand for performances of opera, concert, and recital, and following his time as a Vilar Young Artist from June 2005 future operatic plans include Tamino in The Magic Flute, and Fenton in Sir John in Love for English National Opera, and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte for Glyndebourne Touring Opera.

Andrew will be involved in concert performances of Jaquino in Fidelio with the LSO and Sir Colin Davis, which will become a commercial recording on LSO live. Future concert work includes Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings at the Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester, and with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and Dies Natalis with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Andrew will also give a recital of Purcell and Tippett with Paul Crossley at the V & A Museum in London as part of the 2005 BBC Proms.
