A celebration of his life and music
A celebration of the life and music of one England's most successful and best loved pianists, Clifford Curzon, the centenary of whose birth falls this month.
Famous for his interpretations of Mozart, the programme includes a recording of Mozart's Piano Concerto in B flat alongside works by Schubert, Schumann and Lili Boulanger, with spoken contributions from people who knew and worked with him.

Jez Nelson introduces a set from this year's Cheltenham Jazz festival by one of the hottest talents on the contemporary scene, the Claudia Quintet.
Formed after the dissolution of the Refuseniks Trio, percussionist John Hollenbeck's Claudia Quintet have achieved huge success with their record I-Claudia, which reached the top 15 in the US Jazz CD charts. Improvising around Hollenbeck's writing and drawing upon a melange of influences, the quintet create an eclectic sound ranging from classical minimalism to new composition and progressive post-rock, maintaining a striking originality and versatility.
