Beethoven and Shostakovich cello concertos

Stephanie Hughes presents a concert featuring cello sonatas by Shostakovich and his idol, Beethoven, recorded at Wigmore Hall in London. Former Radio 3 New Generation Artists Alban Gerhardt and Steven Osborne also include five short pieces by Shostakovich, reflecting both his macabre sense of humour and his gift for a great tune.
