Michael Berkeley talks to travel writer Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor, who celebrates his 90th birthday this year. His musical choices range from Victoria and Couperin to Mozart, Berlioz, Debussy and Irving Berlin.
Famous for his daring wartime exploits on Crete, Fermor later became one of the finest travel writers of his generation. He wrote about his beloved Greece in Mani and Roumeli, and his youthful travels on foot across 1930s Europe in A Time of Gifts and Between the Woods and the Water.
