Sir Colin Davis conducts the London Symphony Orchestra - Mitsuko Uchida is the soloist in Schumann's Piano Concerto, a piece unusual for giving the soloist and orchestra equal importance. That's followed after the interval by Walton's landmark 1st Symphony, one of the pieces that firmly established his musical reputation.
