Another chance to hear an exotic score by Stravinsky that highlights this season's fairytale theme. It contrasts with Ravel's bittersweet homage to a vanished world. Also James MacMillan conducts his new organ concerto, a riotous piece that transforms the Royal Albert Hall's recently refurbished organ to produce a cacophony of animal sounds.

The interview reflects on how Petrucciani's disability (Osteogenesis Imperfecta, more often known as glass bones disease) proved no impediment to a triumphant jazz career on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Philharmonia Orchestra and principle conductor Christoph von Dohnányi are joined by the young soloist Christian Tetzlaff in Mozart's folk-inspired Violin Concerto No 3. Followed by Mahler's heart-rending fifth symphony, written for his wife as an expression of their love.
