English Music from The Sage

The Leopold String Trio

Petroc Trelawny introduces this week's final concert of English music from The Sage, Gateshead. The Leopold String Trio are joined by oboist Nicholas Daniel for performances of the Fantasy Quartets by Benjamin Britten and EJ Moeran.

The concert begins with Britten's Metamorphoses after Ovid for oboe solo, followed by three of Purcell's Fantasias for string trio.

Janine Jansen for a performance of Dvorak's Violin Concerto.

The concert concludes with Sibelius' Symphony No 1.
