Including outstanding work from Richard Powers, Paul Abbott and Elspeth Barker. 22:15Between The EarsHearing VoicesA 'composed documentary' by sound artist John Wynne which features recordings of several click languages from the Kalahari Desert in Botswana. The sounds of these amazing languages provide material for subtle electro-acoustic manipulations as the piece moves seamlessly between documentary and abstraction, language and music. Hearing Voices weaves together interviews, field recordings and music in a compelling and adventurous exploration of languages on the verge of extinction. 22:45WOMAD 2004 Saturday nightWOMAD 2004 Saturday nightLate-night live sets and recorded highlights from the WOMAD Festival in Reading, introduced by Andrew McGregor. Senegalese rappers Daara J are live from the Open Air stage, and Nigel Kennedy performs with Polish string band Kroke from the Siam Tent.
