Fairy tales open and close this Prom, with Lyadov's trilogy of folk-infused tone poems and Stravinsky's ballet inspired by Hans Christian Andersen. Oliver Knussen's settings of four Walt Whitman poems contrast with a new dark and wild orchestral piece from leading German-born composer Detlev Glanert.
Presented by Christopher Cook.
