Prom 41
Sunday 15 August 2004 20:00-22:00 (Radio 3)
Following his remarkable millennial "Bach Cantata Pilgrimage", Sir John Eliot Gardiner brings the exceptional B minor Mass to the Proms. The work is at once an expression of Bach's personal faith and a masterpiece of compositional skill. Dating from the time of the Art of Fugue and the Musical Offering, this is JS Bach at his creative and inventive best.
Presented by Louise Fryer.
Continues after Twenty Minutes.
Programme notes, composer and artist profiles and "now playing" information for each main evening Prom are available on LiveText via Dab radio and Freeview.
