![]() Anne McElvoy Anne McElvoy is one of the regular presenters of Radio 3’s arts and ideas magazine, Night Waves. When not on the radio she is Executive Editor of the London Evening Standard. She edits features and comment at the paper and has a column which focuses on domestic and international politics. Anne spent time as a student in Berlin and since then her books on Germany include The Saddled Cow: East Germany’s Life & Legacy in 1992. She was co-author of the memoirs of the spymaster Markus Wolf, 'Man Without a Face'. Elsewhere on the BBC you’ll see Anne as a frequent guest on Newsnight and Question Time amongst other programmes. She joined The Times as a graduate trainee in 1988 and became a foreign correspondent, reporting on the fall of the Berlin Wall, the unification of Germany and the break up of Yugoslavia. In 1992 Anne became the paper’s bureau chief in Moscow. |
