The Royal Chapel in Louis XIV's Chateau of Versailles is the magnificent setting for a choral concert by Le Concert Spirituel, one of France's foremost early music ensembles. Marc-Antoine Charpentier was actually master of music at the rival Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, where he produced a succession of glorious sacred works, praising God and celebrating national victories.
